We opened in Kansas City's historic Westport neighborhood on Feb. 25, 2017 to the warm embrace of more than 300 people. Our 100 taps always include our Local 30 selection of craft beers and ciders made in Missouri and Kansas, representing the best local examples in a variety of styles. Our 70 rotating drafts include many other local contributions that are more seasonal, limited or even exclusive to HopCat. All those drafts don't mean a thing, though, unless we can help you find your next favorite beer. Talk to your server or bartender -- they'll help you navigate all that great beer.
If you're not in the mood for a beer, you can get a glass of wine or a cocktail from our full bar.
Our food menu is casual and fun. Our signature Crack Fries have been a staple since day one. We offer our full menu until last call every night.
The Cabana & TikiCat
Our location in KC is unique from any other HopCat, featuring a four-season rooftop Cabana overlooking Westport, which has a distinctly different vibe from the main floor bar and dining room. Our basement is also home to another oasis called TikiCat. TikiCat is a 21-and-up-only cocktail bar open Wednesday-Saturday each week. Find out more about TikiCat at www.tikicatkc.com. Since opening our Grand Rapids location in January 2008, we've been on an unending quest to ensure that our beer selection is the best in the world. But that’s just the start: Beer Advocate Magazine has ranked us as the #3 Beer Bar in the world, CraftBeer.com has rated us the #2 beer bar in the U.S., and from 2012-2016 RateBeer.com has ranked HopCat Grand Rapids as the #1 brewpub in the United States.
The Anti-Chain Chain
Whether we're winning awards or not, we're committed to providing the best craft beer experience in the world and a unique atmosphere at every HopCat location. We don't do cookie-cutter bars. We start every project by coming up with a unique design and commissioning custom artwork in every location. If you've seen one HopCat, you most certainly haven't seen them all. Every location also has its own beer program manager whose job is to create a beer list built to bring local flavors alongside some of the world's greatest beers. Our kitchens, open every night until last call, create food from scratch every day.
We Aren't Trashy
Our industry-leading sustainability program allows us to recycle or compost almost 90% of the waste we generate. We accomplish this by building relationships with local recycling and composting providers, sourcing compostable products (such as straws, napkins and take-out containers) and training our staff to care as much about what we put out our back door as what comes in through our front door.
Kids and Smoking
HopCat is a bar. If you’re under 21 you can come in before 9 p.m. After 10 p.m., we will not admit anyone under 21.
Please note that you cannot smoke anywhere on our properties, including the cabana.
